Asian Tourism Research (ATR) is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing scholarly knowledge on tourism and related areas within the Asian context. ATR offers a platform for original research, critical reflections, and conceptual debates that capture the unique, dynamic, and diverse nature of tourism phenomena across Asia.
The journal addresses a wide range of topics including—but not limited to—Asian economies, demographic transitions, gender dynamics, destination development, tourist behavior, environmental sustainability, and governance systems that uniquely shape tourism in the region. By exploring these multifaceted interactions, ATR contributes to understanding the distinctiveness of Asian tourism and its global implications.
ATR welcomes empirical research papers, conceptual articles, and short research communications. All submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process managed by an experienced editorial board committed to upholding high academic standards.
There are no article processing charges or submission fees. All accepted papers are published online with open access.
