It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to Asian Tourism Research (ATR), the official journal of the Asian Tourism Research Secretariat at the School of Tourism Studies, Mahatma Gandhi University. This journal emerges from a growing recognition that tourism in Asia is shaped by unique cultural, social, political, and environmental contexts that demand regionally grounded scholarship. Our aim is to create a dedicated space for critical, interdisciplinary research that reflects the lived realities, challenges, and innovations in Asian tourism.

ATR is more than a journal—it is part of a larger academic ecosystem that includes international conferences, symposia, and graduate research colloquiums, all working together to foster dialogue and collaboration among scholars and practitioners.
